Hokanson Coaching & Consulting Coaching Agreement
Coaching Terms and Conditions
Welcome aboard. This agreement lays out how we’ll work together so we can get the most from our time and set you up for the kind of transformation that lasts.
First Call: Foundations Matter
Our first session is about laying the groundwork. We’ll walk through your intake form together, line by line. This helps us define what success looks like for you, clarify your core values, and start building the container that will hold our work. Please send the form at least 24 hours in advance so I can prepare.
Bring a dedicated notebook; one that’s just for this journey.
Coaching Sessions: How We Roll
Each session runs for 60 minutes and starts right on time via Zoom. Please show up ready to dive in: notebook in hand, well-fed, hydrated, and in a quiet, private space where you won’t be interrupted.
Showing Up for Yourself
The truth is, coaching works best when you do. Here's how to get the most from it:
Come prepared. Have a few topics or challenges in mind. If you’re stuck, I’ve got plenty of questions to get us moving; but clarity on what you want will take us further, faster.
Be fully here. Shut down distractions: phone, inbox, Slack, Spotify. The more present you are, the more powerful the work.
Allow space for the process. This isn’t instant gratification. Real change takes time. There will be steps forward, stumbles, and moments of doubt. That’s normal. Give yourself grace to grow.
Between Sessions: Staying Connected
Some of your biggest breakthroughs will happen between calls, while you’re applying what we explore. I’m here to support that.
You’re welcome to send me brief updates via email, WhatsApp, FB Messenger, or text. These messages might be progress updates, accountability check-ins, or specific questions. I’ll always read them, and typically respond with a short voice note or a quick message.
That said, please save the big existential life questions for our calls. They deserve more than a text can give.
Rescheduling & No-Shows
If you need to reschedule, give me at least 24 hours’ notice. Anything less than that will incur a $50 fee, payable before our next session.
If you miss a session without letting me know:
I’ll send a quick text 5 minutes after our scheduled time.
I’ll try calling at the 10-minute mark.
If I still haven’t heard from you, I’ll leave the Zoom room. That session will count as used.
Emergencies (hospitalization, serious crises) are different; we’ll handle those with care and flexibility.
Pausing the Work
In general, I don’t offer pauses mid-package. Coaching is about momentum, and breaks can disrupt the progress we’re making.
That said, I know life can throw curveballs: loss, illness, and major upheaval. I’ll always handle those moments with understanding. If something big comes up, we’ll talk through it.
Often, when life gets full (work stress, parenting overload, travel), that’s actually the perfect time to lean into coaching, not step away from it. These seasons are ripe for growth.
If you need breathing room, switching to biweekly sessions is an option. But a full pause? That’s rare, and used only when truly necessary.
For reference:
A 3-month package must be used within 6 months.
A 6-month package must be used within 12 months.
Unused sessions after that are forfeited.
Confidentiality
What we talk about stays between us. Full stop.
Your personal info, goals, stories, business details; it’s all held in confidence. I treat this work with the respect it deserves.
Payment
Payment is due in full before our first session unless we’ve arranged something different in our discovery call. If payment hasn’t been received, your scheduled time is released.
Feedback
I grow through feedback. If this work has impacted you, I’d love to hear about it; and if you feel moved to leave a testimonial on Google, Facebook, or LinkedIn, I’d be grateful.
If Something Doesn’t Sit Right
Sometimes coaching gets uncomfortable; that’s part of the process. But if I ever say or do something that doesn’t feel okay to you, speak up. I want this space to be real, respectful, and right for you. If I’ve missed the mark, I’ll own it and make it right.
Just So We're Clear (The Fine Print)
Coaching isn’t therapy, financial advice, or business consulting. I’m not here to diagnose, treat, fix, or manage your life for you.
You are in charge of your results. I’ll walk beside you, challenge you, cheer for you, and offer everything I’ve got; but I’m not here to do the work for you.
You are free to ignore my suggestions at any time.
Also important: coaching isn’t a commodity. Once purchased, it is non-refundable.
